Pastor Jordan Self
Pastor Jordan Self has spent nearly two decades watching God take broken things and make them whole — and it's shaped everything about how he pastors, teaches, and walks alongside people today.
Jordan's calling didn't come out of nowhere. He felt God's pull toward ministry from a very young age, and growing up as a missionary kid himself gave him an early, front-row look at what it means to serve people across cultures and walk with them through hard seasons. That upbringing planted a lifelong interest in theology and in helping others — one that's never let go.
That calling took him far from home early in his own ministry. For over a decade, he served as a missionary and counselor with Camino Global, first in Guatemala and later in Texas. In Guatemala, he taught Bible classes, led a discipleship program for high school boys, and even coached basketball — building relationships with students navigating life far from everything familiar. In Texas, his focus shifted to preparing others for the mission field: training and counseling missionary candidates, guiding couples through marriage assessments, and checking in on missionary kids away at college who needed someone in their corner.
That season gave Jordan a front-row seat to how deeply people need both truth and presence — Scripture taught well, and someone willing to sit with them in the hard parts of life. It's why counseling has remained such a steady thread in his ministry. He still offers spiritual guidance and preaches to men in recovery at The Salvation Army Men's Rehabilitation program, and continues counseling youth and adults through the everyday challenges of faith and life. He's bilingual in English and Spanish, and has ministered across a wide range of backgrounds and cultures.
Today, Jordan serves as Lead Pastor at Falls Mountain, a role he's held for the past three years, shepherding the congregation with the same heart that's carried him throughout his ministry — teaching Scripture faithfully and making sure no one walking through the doors feels like a stranger. Alongside his pastoral work, he also serves as a Student Recruiter for Grace School of Theology, building relationships with universities and churches and helping connect the next generation of students with theological education.
Jordan holds a Master of Ministry in Bible and Theology from Covington Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Southeastern Bible College. He is a licensed and ordained pastor and has continued his training with a certificate in introductory Christian counseling.
Outside the pulpit, Jordan is an outgoing extrovert who genuinely lights up around people — he'd much rather be out getting to know folks, Christians and non-Christians alike, than staying behind church walls. He stays active with regular workouts, is always reading or listening to something on theology or counseling, and considers himself (his words) a pretty funny storyteller. He's dad to three kids — Solomon (18), Grace (16), and Afton (9) — who keep life full and joyful.
His favorite verse, 2 Corinthians 5:20, sums up how he sees his own life: as an ambassador for Christ, pleading with people on His behalf to be reconciled to God. It's the thread that runs through everything Jordan does — whether he's teaching, preaching, or just listening, his desire is the same: to help people experience the fullness of God's love, right where they are.
